Everyone is encouraged to help support our breast friends at Breast Cancer Care WA as the Perth CBD is painted purple on Friday 24th of September, 2021.
Glen Jakovich and the amazing volunteers at Breast Cancer Care WA get together annually to help raise vital funds for the WA community and those affected by breast cancer daily. By raising these much-needed funds, Breast Cancer Care WA is able to support people facing a diagnosis of breast cancer with specialist breast care nursing, counselling and financial support.
Glen shared “every year we meet new victims, people in the plight of their life, in the middle of a major fight and struggle, they need resources and support.”

Funds raised help Breast Cancer Care WA create vital education initiatives aimed at increasing awareness in order to enable early detection of breast cancer.
“The Purple Bra Day event raises both money and awareness” and “if intervention comes in early, then we can trap this insidious disease, and save lives,” he said.
Steel Blue donates $10 from every pair of Pink and Purple boots directly to Breast Cancer Care WA. The colourful boots offer a potential starting point for conversations about breast cancer awareness. The packaging of the Pink and Purple safety boots includes a shower tag diagram that highlights the importance of giving yourself a monthly check and shows you how to conduct one for yourself.

The Steel Blue team will be shaking tins with the Breast Cancer Care WA volunteers this Purple Bra Day. If you are in the Perth CBD, show your support to the team of volunteers who are wearing purple bras to raise awareness.
