How do they work?
Penetration resistance comes from a reinforced component built into the boot’s midsole. This component is typically made of tough steel or lightweight non-conductive composite.
Sharp objects are stopped in their tracks, keeping the wearer safe from puncture, infection and injury.
In addition, Steel Blue Penetration Resistant boots are fitted with Nitrile® outsoles, Trisole® Comfort Technology and Ortho Rebound® footbeds. The result is exceptional protection, heat resistance to 300°C, water resistance, whole-body support and guaranteed comfort.

International safety standards for puncture-resistant work boots with steel plates (EN ISO 20345:2022) were updated in June 2022.
